Group Head of Content, AgriBriefing Ltd
Emma Penny is Group Head of Content for Briefing Media, which founded and runs the Agri Innovation Den. Her cross-business role means she is involved in all aspects of the business, from recruiting and training editorial staff, to keeping track of new developments in agriculture.
Emma is from a farming family in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, where her parents run a suckler cow and beef finishing enterprise alongside growing arable crops.
A journalist for her entire professional career, Emma followed a BSc (Hons) in Agriculture at Aberdeen University by joining RBI as a technical writer for Crops magazine, then becoming livestock editor at Farmers Weekly. She subsequently worked as a journalist and editor in the road haulage, logistics and construction industries before becoming editor of Farmers Guardian, a Briefing Media title, in 2008. She has won several publishing industry awards as editor of Farmers Guardian, and is an Associate of the Royal Agricultural Society (ARAgS).
Besides Farmers Guardian, Briefing Media publishes UK titles Dairy Farmer and Arable Farming, the web services Feedinfo, Agrimoney.com, LammaXchange.com and FlexNews.com, as well as owning and running events including LAMMA, CropTec and the British Farming Awards.
