FOTENIX is an agricultural diagnostics firm looking to extend the current vision capabilities of plant production by engineering camera systems to enhance the abilities of machinery. Co-founder Charles Veys says the core offering is an enhanced multi-spectral system, able to provide laboratory quality analysis in-field and at a rate to permit real-time information on plant status.

“This has been used previously for drought, disease and weed detection, with a focus on fruit ripeness to help address the labour shortage in the industry, as the current machinery lacks selectivity, which has been shown in the lab with multi-spectral technology. “The differentiation factor is the three-dimensional capabilities which negate orientation issues seen by current state-of-the-art equipment. This is protected by a UK patent application priority date.”
